How much floor do I need for a party tent?
For full coverage: calculate tent floor area in m² (e.g. 6×12 m = 72 m²). For a dance floor only: 16 m² (4×4 m) for 25 guests, 36 m² (6×6 m) for 50.
Since 1988
Modular flooring is built from interlocking 50 × 50 cm plastic panels that form a flat, stable surface inside the party tent — essential on wet or uneven ground, grass, courtyard or asphalt. We rent in Oslo and surroundings from 75 NOK per square metre (up to 5 days). The floor is non-slip, water-resistant and rated for dance floor loads and wheelchair use. Delivery, floor setup and pickup are priced separately as add-on services. Bedre Teltutleie has rented tent solutions in Oslo since 1988.

Cover the full tent floor on grass, wet or uneven ground — safer for walking guests and protects tent walls from ground water. For a dance floor alone, 4 × 4 m (16 m²) is the minimum, 6 × 6 m (36 m²) comfortably holds 30–50 dancing guests. Panels click together without tools.

Minor unevenness (5–10 cm) is absorbed by the panel structure. Larger bumps or steep slope should be levelled first — call us for a site visit if unsure.
Rule of thumb: 4–5 m² per person per hour. Our team installs 72 m² (a 6×12 m tent) in under 2 hours.
